Discover the quieter, less-commercial side of the Smokies. For more about the Folkestone Inn and the Bryson City, Swain County area, click on the links below. From our guest book The house was beautiful, the rooms comfortable, the food outstanding and the adventures in the Smokies are never ending. This is agreeably for both of us the best vacation we have ever had. Thanks for your hospitality. Adel & Shari © 2002 Folkestone Inn |

The Folkestone Inn is surrounded by everything that's great about the North Carolina Smokies. There's hiking, waterfalls, trout fishing, and tubing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, mountain biking on the famous Tsali trails, fishing on Fontana Lake, sightseeing on the Great Smoky Mountains Scenic Railroad and whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is just ten miles away. There's an 18-hole mountain golf course nearby, and the Biltmore Estate and Winery is just a little over an hour away, in nearby Asheville.
