Just outside Bryson City
, North Carolina, you’ll turn off a quiet country road and wind your way past a small pond up to Stone’s Throw Cabin. Take a moment when you step on the wide front porch to turn around and take in the view. You just might sit down in one of the comfortable rockers and never get up.
But there’s much more to this cabin than a pretty view.
This Bryson City log cabin in the Smokies is a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath getaway with all wood interior and stacked stone accents. The owners have thoughtfully decorated the cabin with local and Native American Indian art from their personal collection.
The entertainment area has hardwood floors, oriental rugs and leather sectional and other seating. There’s satellite TV, DVD/CD with Bose speakers, plenty of games and a reference library of books on the area. In front of the floor-to-ceiling stacked stone gas log fireplace is a unique coffee table featuring a working model train layout.
The dining area adjoins the kitchen, which has a refrigerator with ice/water dispenser; microwave; oven with stovetop; dishwasher; toaster; blender; coffee maker; and tableware, glassware, serving pieces and cooking utensils. There’s also a kitchen island with seating for two.
The cabin has a washer and dryer, and central heating and air conditioning.

Convenient Location
The cabin is just 5 minutes from Bryson City’s restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. And just 5 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Deep Creek entrance, where you can walk to waterfalls, enjoy trout fishing and whitewater tubing. Other fun activities include Nantahala River rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking and kayaking. Take a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, tour the Biltmore Estate, or just enjoy visiting the many artist studios and galleries in the area.
